Valentino the Shepherd

We met Valentino when we were out for a walk with the boys, down at Rio Pesquera, near to the small village of Zagra, in the Granada Province of Andalucia, Spain.  We have explored this area quite a few times and keep going back because of the stunning scenery and a walk interesting enough to keep our two boys motivated; as getting a two and four year old walking at the same time and happy to do so, is no mean feat (read our tips here).

After a circular walk and a yummy picnic we bumped into Valentino, the local shepherd and his rather fluffy sheepdog.  With over 120 sheep and goats to tend the nine year old sheepdog looked quite spritely, in fact we thought the small collie was a puppy and rather younger than his true age.  After a chat and a quick pose for his photograph Valentino and his trusty dog went back to work, whilst we built a ship/raft/sledge/bridge from the graveyard of driftwood.
